Aaron JENKINS - Patagonia emigrant 1856
« on: Friday 08 April 05 14:14 BST (UK) »
Aaron Jenkins, late of Aberdare, and his family, wife Rachel and son James left on the Mimosa arriving at what is now Puerto Madryn in Patagonia on 28 June 1856.
I am trying to trace descendents of his brothers and sisters who may have stayed in Wales.   The most complete list of family members is from the 1851 Census of Pentyrch Parish (Gwaelod y Garth).   Piece: 2456 Folio: 237 Schedule: 100
Address: near Colliers Arms - very handy
All surnames Jenkins and all except the Head (he was born Bonvilston) born St Fagans.

John   Hd   M   50   Ag. Lab
Rachel   Wi   M   46
Miles   So   U   24   Iron Miner
Miriam   Da   U   22   Dressmaker
Aaron   So   U   20   Iron Miner  -   the emigrant
Richard   So   U   14   Iron Miner
John   So   U   12   Iron Miner
Llewelyn   So   U   10   Iron Miner
Rachel   Da   U   7   Scholar

The 1861 Census of Troedyrhiw also show a grandson John Davies aged 2.   Possible son of Miriam or Rachel?

Any information on the descendents of this family greatly appreciated.
