Am wanting to trace my COLE family from around the area of Yeovil...
How they came out to New Zealand is a mystery???

Joseph Alfred COLE married Ann Hallett and they had Alfred Benjamin COLE and he married Sarah Jane Richards here in NZ.
Alfred Benjamin COLE was born 1857 in Yeovil.

Would really love to hook up with some COLE's who could be my relations or anyone that would have information about the COLE family.

Do you have the family in the 1861 census?

This shows the following:

Joseph Cole, head, married, aged 39, Farrier, born Odcombe, Somerset.
Ann Cole, wife, aged 37, born Hardington, Somerset.
Louisa Jane Cole, daughter, aged 7, born Martock.
Alfred Benjamin, son, aged 4, born Yeovil.
Elizabeth Rachel Cole, daughter, aged 1, born Yeovil.
John Andrew Cole, son, aged 1 month, born Martock.

The family is in North Street, Martock, Somerset.

In the 1871, Joseph Cole, still married, is a visitor in the household of  William Parker, a Harness Maker, in Yeovil. That shows his age as 51.

Freereg has the baptism of Joseph Cole in Odcombe, St Peter and Paul on 23/12/1818, son of Samuel and Betsey Cole. Samuel shown as a Sawyer.

There are some siblings of Joseph on Freereg if you look in the baptisms there.

In the 1871, Ann Cole is in Kensington, London and a Cook in the household there. She has Elizabeth, her daughter with her.

Samuel Cole was baptised in Odcombe on 24/01/1790, born on 09/01/1790, son of Richard and Susannah Cole.

He has siblings baptised there on Freereg too.

Samuel is in Odcombe in the 1841 census. The household is as follows:

Samuel Cole, aged 50, Ag Lab, born Somerset.
Elizabeth Cole, aged 49, not born Somerset.
Jane Cole, aged 20, Glover, born Somerset.
Maria Cole, aged 17, Glover, born Somerset.
John Cole, aged 14, Ag Lab, born Somerset.
Emmanuel Cole, aged 12, born Somerset.
Anne Cole aged 4, born Somerset.

I think you should have a good look at Freereg to get more on the family.

Joseph Cole looks to have died in Yeovil in 1873, aged 58.

I cannot find Ann Cole on the 1881 census. Do you know what happened to her?

Cole, Arthur Benjamin

Arthur disappears from UK Censuses after the 1861 census (when he was 4).
And note that there are no UK Passenger Lists dating before 1890 - so you need to look at NZ records for that.
