Birth certificates not found
« on: Sunday 31 October 10 23:47 GMT (UK) »
Edward James Douglas Walker, born 4 May 1911 in Glasgow, Scotland, and his brother Samuel Walker born 28 June 1913, Glasgow, Scotland.   I have had no luck finding their birth certificates on Scotlands People.   Their parents are (we believe) Ellen Wright and John Walker, however no marriage certificate has been found for this also.  We are wondering if the boys are illegitimate, but surely there would be proof of their birth somewhere.  Both parents were born in Ireland.  Ellen went on later to marry a Mr Jackson in Glasgow (found a marriage cert for a Ellen Walker marrying a Thomas Jackson in 1919 on Scotlands people so that could fit, but still need to know about the 2 boys and their dad John.
Please help!  I'm stuck.......

Yes, I've seen that one before, and at first glance it looks great, except for the fact that it lists Ellen as having different birth parents to the Ellen who married Thomas Jackson.  So I do't know which marriage certificate to believe.

Any other ideas gratefully appreciated......

Unfortunately I didn't bring that info in to work with me today, so I'll reply to that tomorrow.   If I remember rightly, the names are completely different.  However according to the wee notes I have here today, The Jackson marriage cert says her parents are James Wright and Elizabeth (nee Kerr), If I recall rightly the other one says Samuel and Elizabeth McFadzean.

Hi

SP has a birth for Samuel Walker in 1913 registered in the Anderston District,  Glasgow has quite a few districts in it so you need to use Glasgow City in  the County/City/Minor Records section.

Unfortunately it cannot be viewed online

Andy
