My PC has been poorly for a few days, but has made a good recovery - I hope  ::)
So back to Caleb.
1871  Class: RG10; Piece: 5315; Folio: 13; Page: 20
23  Morris Houses. Newtown.  Aberwystwyth.  Parish of Beaufort.
George Davies 28 Steel worker b Bristol
Johannah Davies wife 26 b Bristol
Caleb Davies son 1 b Bristol
William Lince 21 brother in law Steel worker b Bristol

MODIFIED WRONG MARRIAGE
I would have thought Johanna was a Lince if William is George`s brother in law, but I can`t find a marriage, the closest is this one.

Marriages Dec 1862  All names on same page.
Davies  George    Hereford  6a 373
Davis  Johannah     Westbury S  6a 373

Gladwin  Richard     Westbury S  6a 373
Harding  Thomas Cornelius     Westbury S.  6a 373
Warr  Mary     Westbury S  6a 373

1881 RG11; Piece: 2446; Folio: 30; Page: 6
This definately looks like the right family. Beaufort is the link. George  is still alive but must be away from home on the night.
Staple Hill Road, Mangotsfield Gloucestershire.
Johanna Davis 36 marr. coal miners wife.b Fishponds
Caleb Davis 11 son b Mangotsfield
Caroline Davis 9 b Beaufort Wales
Ellen Davis 5 Mangotsfield.
Mary Ann Davis 2

Can`t seem to locate him in 1891 ???

Hi wilcoxon,

Post (No. 5)  possible marriage in 1869 for George DAVIS to Joanna LYNES, finding Joanna (1844) Bristol & William (1850) Bristol together on 1861/1851 census with father named Michael may help

Don't have full transcript but there appears to be a LINES family

1861 Gloucester
Michael LINES 1821
Caroline 1823
Johannah LINES 1844
John 1846
Mary Ann 1849
Isaac 1851
William LINES 1854

this could be the family in 1851

1851 census Gloucester
[/u]
Caroline LINES 1823
Joanna 1843
Mary Ann 1849
John 1850

1851 census Gloucester
Michael LYNES 1823

This is the marriage entry ref. on FreeBMD
Mar q 1869 Keynsham (Gloucester & Somerset) vol. 5c  page no. 1014
George DAVIS Joanna LYNES

marriage entry FreeBMD
Sep q 1843 Clifton 11 343 (names on same page)
Michael LINES Caroline STRANGE

FreeBMD doesn't help much with births of Joanna & William LINCE or LYNES, theres a Male LYNES Clifton 1849 There are these
John LINES Keynsham 1846
Mary Ann LINES 1848 Clifton
Isaac LINES 1851 Clifton

from IGI familysearch

christenings Mangotsfield, Gloucester
parents named Michael & Caroline
John LINES 15/3/1846
William 26/6/1853

Hi LynneR

Hope the information proves helpful let us know how your friend gets on when she's sorted it all out - Good Luck  :)

Thank you Wilcoxon for adding extra info. for LINES family on 1861 census :)

As George DAVIS was not with Joanna & family in 1881 I think this could be him

RG11/5272/58/13
Cwmdows District, Monmouth
George DAVIES Lodger Marr. age 34 (1847) Mangostfield occ. coal miner

Difficult to narrow 1861 census without George's mothers name as there are many George DAVIS/DAVIES in Gloucester with a father named John  :-\

there are a couple of possibly christenings from IGI family search

George DAVIS 23/7/1848 Mangotsfield Gloucester
father John mother Eliza

George DAVIS 21/1/1844 St. Philip & St. Jacob Gloucester
father John mother Caroline
