Hi Does anynoe know what a patent thread finisher did, also what sort of industry it would have been used in.

It was probably the Cotton Industry. I assume it is the same as a Yarn Twister who took several strands of cotton yarn and threaded them through guides on to the bobbins of a twisting frame. A Patent Twister attended a newer patent type of twisting frame which needed less supervision.
