Tying to find more on Matilda McKay Kerr born Kirkcolm Wigtownshire in 1866 the eldest child of John Kerr and Jane Watson.
I have her up until 1891 census then where she went I don't know.
Have never been able to find a marriage or death for her.

There are 7 Matilda Kerr marriages on Scotlands People between 1891-1901 although none were in Wigtown - have you checked them in case she married out of county

Hi ,
I would be very grateful if you could email me a copy of it . I have never been able to find her . Her mother Jane

Watson was born in Kirkcolm Wigtownshire and was the sister of my gg grandmother.

Was it your first visit to Wigtownshire ?

Thanks

Hi I am a McKay from my mothers side I recently went to do more research at Wigtown Dumfries as they have a family research centre there. I visited many gravestones and found many ancestors. I have lots of paperwork and notes online which I will sift through and send you the details.  Are you living in Scotland?

    Birth:  27 Jan 1869 - Wigtownshire
    Marriage:  5 Dec 1893
    Death:  12 Jan 1959 - Liverpool, England
    Parents:  John Kerr, Janet Smith
    Spouse:  Thomas Brown

I found this is the closest from ancestry and it belongs to the Clarkson family tree if this is any good to you.

Hi ,
Thank you for this information but this is not my Matilda - she was born in Kirkcolm also Wigtownshire and yours was
born in Sorbie --Matilda and her brother Niven are a mystery he married here went to Canada and came back I found his wife's death but nothing for him or Matilda.

I have spent hours at NRH in Edinburgh trying to find them.

Yes I stay in Scotland and visit Wigtownshire quite regularly -- going again in a couple of weeks -- round the cemeteries

while my OH golfs.

Thanks again.
