I had a look at the Qld immigration film - as you had said, it is just a list of passengers from the Netherby who arrived in Brisbane on board the City of Melbourne.

J GOLDSWORTHY 21 is listed but no other details.  So nothing gained from there  :(

I'd like to go into the QLD Archives to see if they have anything on the Land-order system...but unfortunately I can't get in there.

I phoned to ask if they had anything on it...but the lady just said "you'd best come in and check".  :(

Bad luck if I lived in Townsville or Melbourne.

I'm closer but just can't get in there at the moment.

I'm wondering if UK Archives would have anything on it.

There is another John GOLDSWORTHY shown in censuses as  b Breage 1848.  This is his family:

Joseph Goldsworthy 42
Margaret Goldsworthy 43
Harriet Goldsworthy 18
Joseph Goldsworthy 17
Ann Goldsworthy 14
Margaret Goldsworthy 11
Mary J Goldsworthy 9
Elizabeth Goldsworthy 6
John Goldsworthy 4
Richard Goldsworthy 1

Most of them (without the father Joseph) are still together in 1861.
Margaret Goldsworthy 53, and her children:
Harriet Goldsworthy 26
Ann Pascoe 24
Mary J Goldsworthy 19
Elizabeth Goldsworthy 16
John Goldsworthy 13 Richard Goldsworthy 11
Joseph W Pascoe 3  - grandson

So it would seem that the 5 year-old John who was buried at Breage was possibly the son of Ann and Ralph - which leaves this other John, son of Joseph and Margaret.  There are a couple of possibles in 1871 but not enough information to be sure.

My brain is full!  :D

Judith - and we're still no nearer to John on the Netherby!
