Was looking at the Harleian Society's book "Allegations for Marriage Licenses - Westminster 1558-1699" this week and stumbled across the HARRIS/FORREST one. It says:-

22 May 1584 Richard HARRIS m. Elizabeth FORREST spinster of Westminster (bond of her father Robert FORREST)

It doesn't give an abode for Richard.

There are some FORREST/FOREST wills in London (both PCC and London Courts) like:-

 Henry Forest, Gentleman of City of Westminster 1625 PCC

which may be relevant.

I am a descendant of Robert (will 1641) and Joan Harris, Minster Lovell.
I have a researcher in England who has provided the following -

Oxford Court Depositions 1542 - 1639 ( Entry #60) 29 Jan 1613

Reference a case brought against Richard Harys,his brother Robert Harys was one of the witnesses called. The entry states that Robert Harys had been resident  for two years in Minster Lovell, "previously of Hook Norton for 4 years and Milton under Wychwood, Shipton under Wychwood for 12 years"

We are pursuing Harris wills and baptisms from Shipton u W. around this time. Will advise as more comes to hand.

I have no idea of how my husband is related to the HARRIS family of Oxfordshire, particularly of Minster Lovell, only that a Y DNA test has matched him quite closely with other HARRISes from Buckinghamshire with Oxfordshire roots. I am only back as far as 1826, when his great grandfather, William HARRIS, s/o James HARRIS and Mary SPICER, was born in Buckingham, Bucks. He later went to Canada. I am interested in all of this though. Hoping to connect the dots some day!
