Hi Nicola,

The information I have on Fytton/Fitton:

Rosanna SALT born 1829/30 married (1) George WARD in 1855 and they had 5 children. They both ran a provision shop in Sutton, Macclesfield.  George died in either 1869 or 1871.

The widowed Rosanna then married (2) the widower Thomas Fytton/Fitton in 1872.  He had 4 children from previous marriage and was a farmer in Gawsworth.  Rosanna and Thomas did not have any children - they had 9 between them from previous marriages.   Thomas died in 1891.  Rosanna continued as an independent grocer until her death in 1909.

Of the 4 original Fytton children, John married Mary GILBERT, Arthur married Annie HARRIS, Frances married James CORBISHLEY and Mary married William POTTS.

Alton: Salt;
Milwich: Handley;
Fradswell: Hall;
Leigh: Belcher
Cheadle: Lyemar
Macclesfield area: Salt, Ward, Fytton/Fitton, Bradley, Hanson, Williamson, Tinsley, Corbishley, Potts
Lisburn/Ireland: Herron/Heron
Suffolk: Robinson

Hi Nicola,

I married into the Delves family .... in Australia :)

Would be curious to hear whether there are any connections "way back", as most of my husband's ancestors were from around Catsfield and Worthing in Sussex.  Australia came into it when John Delves, b. 1819, sailed out here on the "James Pattison" in 1839/40, and married the daughter of the Crouch family who had sailed on the same ship.
Regards,
Deb
I live in Sydney, Australia, and I'm researching: Powell, Tatham, Dunbar, Dixon, Mackwood, Kinnear, Mitchell, Morgan, Delves, & Anderson

I am a Tomkinson with family history in the Macclesfield area dating back with the Tomkinson name to the 1841 census. They mainly came from the Northwich (Moulton) area and my Grandmother was Eliza b.1898.
