Lancashire Fusilliers
« on: Tuesday 19 April 05 03:23 BST (UK) »
My gr grandfather was a member of the above 3rd battalion and was the colour sargeant. He also married my gr grandmother Kate Roberts in 1899 in Malta where he was based.
I'd appreciate any info as I've been unable to find any online except the site below.

Hi Marc,

Can you be a bit more specific about the information that you're looking for. Are you looking for info about the Lancashire Fusilliers or for BMD info for your ancestors?

With a bit more info someone might be able to help  :)

Best wishes,Mick ;)

The Lancashire fusilliers have a regimental museum in Bury, Lancashire (the address is Bolton Road, Bury).  I have no idea what information they hold there - but it might be worth a letter .....!

What I'm looking for is whether he served beyond Malta. My mother seems to think that he may've served in India also as some of her aunts were supposedly born there.
I haven't had any luck contacting the regiment itself, and I haven't found anything in the military records either.
Oh well, I'll just keep plugging away.
thanks for the responses.
