Dutch Penpal during WW2 Truce Lebazoo
« on: Sunday 20 February 11 20:07 GMT (UK) »
During the war my grandmother wrote to a Dutch family - and a girl which was her age. She wrote from England to Holland , and exchanged photos and writings. I know that the phonetic spelling of her name was ** LEBAZOO- whether it is spelt differently is another matter.

I would love to know about the surname and the steps i would take to find out about this girl , her family and if she may be still alive.

Many Thanks Nan :) ;)

** Lobezoo would be the correct spelling.

Since she might still be living I've removed the first name.

Surname may well be Lobbezoo; if you know where the family was living when she was writing you could search to see if there are people of that name still living here:

Because you're looking for more recent info you're unlikely I think to find anything on http://www.genlias.nl/ , although if you know the area or names of other family members, you might have some luck at http://www.online-begraafplaatsen.nl/  (cemetery info).

I have found a entry which looks ver much like the person I trying to find, Geertruid Lobbezoo born 1932 , died 1968.
It also has spouses name. I was wondering where I can go from here?
