Alvaston Hall
« on: Wednesday 23 February 11 12:48 GMT (UK) »
George Webb Smith, the owner of Alvaston Hall, left around 1915.  The Hall was divided into 4 apartments and a caretaker A J Thompson installed.  Some time later the Hall was sold to a builder and oral history reports this as being a Mr Memory.  Does anyone have any ancestors who lived in the apartments or a building contractor called Memory working in the area?
Thank you.

Thank you - I have seen this thread.  I have now made contact with the last people to live at the Hall and they have provided some very useful information.
