Searching for the family tree of Joseph Friary born 1887 who married Catherine (Kate) Donnelly in Dalziel on 31st December 1913.Their daughter Catherine Clare became Mrs william Martin in 1940 and they had 4 daughters, one of whom was called  (*) .They  lived in Craigneuk and visited family members of the Donnelly connection  in Auchinleck in the 50s and 60s..

Would it be possible to trace where the older members of  this family are  buried? Catherine  (Donnelly) Friary died aged 89 in 1970.

Many thanks for help.

Hi Bonniejean,

Catherine Friary (nee Donnelly) died in the district of Motherwell and Wishaw so quite possibly she's buried at the Cambusnethan cemetery.  Might I suggest you contact the Motherwell Heritage Centre as they have a CD ROM of Cambusnethan burials.  They also hold the newspapers for the area, probably 'Wishaw Press' where you might be able to find an obituary.

Cheers, Sage.
