Thanx everyone & for looking ShaunJ.
Unfortunately have had no reply from the online parish clerk so not sure if I there's any other way I can identify the Thomas P in this grave.

Just noting the death announcement in the Liverpool Mercury of 14 May 1830:

On Sunday last, much respected, in his 40th year, Mr Thomas Pinnington, auctioneer, leaving a widow and six infant children to lament their loss.

Thank you SO much ShaunJ.....This confirms it is the right Thomas P.   :)
Could I be cheeky & ask if you can find anything reported on the death of the lady buried in the same grave:
Ellen Pinnington, buried 17th Feb 1830, aged 66 years.
I believe this is Thomas' mother. I don't know his father's name & I was hoping if there is a newspaper report of her death, it may note her husband's name.
Once again thanx so much for that extra info.
Annie

Hi Joanne & welcome to Rootschat
Yes, Thomas Pinnington was the father of Henry Crowther Pinnington. I'm not actually related but have been doing some research for Ruth Sparrow nee Pinnington. Would be happy to share what we have so far.....(you'll need to post 3 messages before I can send you the info by PM.) or if you like I can just post it on RC.
Let me know and I'll help out wherever I can.
Cheers

Hi Annie, thankyou for your reply, I would love to know what you have, I a fair bit on Henry Crowther Pinningtoneg after his marriage to Emma Bidell/Biddle and their children Alice Pinnington their daughter being my ancestoral link, there is some confusion to whether Henry arrived in SA on the Canton in 1838 or as in newspaper obits on the Cressy to which i can not find a list of passengers or crew/!

i know his parents were Thomas Pinnington auctioneer & his mather Elizabeth?, their children, Richard, Thomas Henrietta,& Henry, i have Henry's birthdate & christening, his occupation & death etc.but would love to know a bit more about and about his parents...if you wish to put info on here i dont mind at all... could you please tell me Ruth Sparrows link to the Pinningtons, William, Henry or one of the other brothers of Alice ...thankyou Joanne  :)
