I am trying to find out where the Sondes family were  on 1841

I have 1851 as follows living in Ramsgate
David Sondes born 1807 Chatham
Mary Ann poss nee Cork born 1808 Chart
Henry 1833 Ramsgate
Ann Faversham 1837
David Henry 1839  born Ore, Hastings or  Fairlight on various census
Marian 1843 born Thanet

I cannot find Sondes on 1841 that fits in, have checked Kent and Sussex, I know it is not a common surname but I am struggling with this family
I would ideally like to find a baptism for David born 1839, he died in Sept 1851

Any help much appreciated

There is a Francis SONDES, Female, Christened 04 Nov 1832, Ramsgate, Kent to DAVID/MARY ANN
Also these to David/Mary or Mary Ann;
ANN Sondes, 31 Dec 1834, Faversham
SARAH Sondes, 31 December 1828, Canterbury
ELIZABETH MARY, 12 Feb 1837, Wesleyan, Faversham

All on Familysearch Pilot which seem to match the Children on this this Census except there is no Henry (maybe with Grandparents?)

Thank you Trish, they are worth a consideration, 1841 probelm is they round the ages up, where the Sondes surname came from I have no idea exept there is a very wealthy family by the same name but nothing to do with "my" Sondes, this surname carries all the way through records.
Frances is a family name but I can't match her up yet but she might well have married or died

CityArk site has the parish records for Chatham but it can be a time consuming exercise as it was a huge parish (St. Mary) and just like looking through the pages of the books.

Have found the following on ref.00020234 - on right hand side of the page:

Sauns David, son of John and Sarah bp.29/3/1807

Searched 1806 through to 29/3/1807.   If you don't think is likely to be your David you could keep on looking from there.

I'm researching the Sondes family for a friend. She has Frances Sondes born circa 1833 Ramsgate, married 1) George Thomas Hobday Q1 1852 Thanet, 2a, 730, then married 2) James Emery Q2 1870 Thanet 2a, 1139. Frances had 3 daughters with George who died in 1863, then one daughter and one son with James who died before 1881

Yes, this is the line I am following, Sondes, Coveney and Challen, all from Kent areas

I do believe one of these families were fishermen and also somewhere down the line in the earlier days there was a murder

Will have to come back to you later as it is a long time since I looked at the Sondes and attached families, you have taken me completely by surprise as this was initially started in 2011

so far I have got
Frances Sondes marrying George Thomas Hobday 1852
then Elizabeth Ann born 1853
Mary Esther born 1856 died 1857
Sarah Maria born 1858 married Martin Sexton Thanet 1875
Maria Harriett born 1860 marrying Frederick George Emery

2nd marriage for  Frances Hobday, nee Sondes to James Emery 1870

I am not 100% sure but I believe, and I stand to be corrected that James Emery and Fredrick George Emery's mother was nee Bishop, I have to double check this, so was these 2 emery men related?

As I said, I stand to be corrected of course

my friend's link is through Elizabeth Ann Hobday who married Walter Perry on 2 October 1870 in Islington. She died in 1932.  Intriguing about the two Emery men
