1841 Suffolk Census - TUBBS

Hi,

I was hoping that someone may be able to look up the Suffolk 1841 census for the following families:

John Tubbs head (b. 1804 Isle of Ely, Cambs) probably a farmer
Lucy Case Tubbs wife (b. 1810 Sculthorpe, Norfolk)
Lucy Green Tubbs dau (b. 1837 Kennett, Cambs)
Joseph John Tubbs son (b. 9 Feb 1841 Newmarket, Suffolk)

and:

John Tubbs head (b. 1781 Sutton Cambs)
Hephzibah Tubbs wife (b. 1796 Harleston, Norfolk)
Jane Tubbs dau (b. ~1826 Herringswell Hall, Suffolk)
Emily Tubbs dau (b. ~1826 Herringswell Hall, Suffolk)
Esther Tubbs dau (b. ~1828 Herringswell Hall, Suffolk)
Elizabeth Brown Tubbs dau (b. ~1830 Herringswell Hall, Suffolk)

Couldn't see the other Tubbs family in Newmarket.

Definately the right ones!! The other family is proving to be a pain in the backside 

They have children born in Newmarket or Kennett Suffs/Cambs before and after the 1841 census but I can't find them in either Cambridge or Suffolk - I am beginning to loath borders!

I have a birth certificate for Joseph John Tubbs b. 9 Feb 1841 and this is what it gives as their address:
"born at Kennett (father was a farmer), registration district Newmarket, subdistrict Gazeley, in the counties of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire"

Do you have any ideas as to where I should be looking - as I don't know this border region that well

From the info you gave , from the birth cert I would have expected them to be living in Kennett.  Have you checked to see if they are in 1841 Kennett.  Maybe it would be best to put this request on the Cambridgeshire board, unless you have already done so.
I have just checked and part of Newmarket is in Cambridgeshire in 1841.  Hope that helps.

Unfortunately I have already posted on the Cambridgeshire page and although someone looked it up - they weren't there either 

I guess they will just remain a mystery - we all have a few of those!!
