THOMSON family stoke dameral
« on: Friday 06 May 11 00:44 BST (UK) »
Hi trying to find parents of Mark Thomson bn. c1770, presumably Devon.

He married fanny dunn 11 march 1799 stoke dameral ,and died 12 nov. 1810 british guiana. His children were george and eleanor bn. 1801, thomas 1805 and william rowe 1809.

He may have been a sailor as a naval career ran in the family.

Can trace family forward but hit brick wall with Mark, any help or suggestions would be great
thank-you

Eleanor was baptised 20 Nov 1803, not in 1801. I checked Plymouth St Andrew baptisms - Mark wasn't baptised there. Plymouth Charles, East Stonehouse are also possibilities.
Have you looked at the actual parish register entry for the marriage in 1799? Parish of origin may be quoted, plus witnesses' names will be given which may be clues. The Devon FHS http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/shop/parish_register.php can provide an original copy as can the Devon Record Office. http://www.devon.gov.uk/record_office.htm
