Freshford parish registers COLLINGS, William

Hi, This my first post so hope I follow protocol. Searching for any records of William Collings.
The information I have from his Victorian (Australia) death certificate is:
William Collings, Mariner, drowned Port Phillip Bay -23 June 1874 aged 48yrs had lived 22yrs in Victoria.
Place of birth given as Freshford Somersetshire, Parents Joseph Collings, baker and Mary Collings formerly Samuels.

Any guidance as to what on-line resources I can use to search would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there and welcome

A good site to start with would be http://www.freereg.org.uk , Freshford PRs are online there and although William's siblings are recorded in Freshford (John, Joseph, Rowland and Joannah) with parents Joseph (a baker) and Mary, no sign of William's baptism yet.

Thank you Shirl, I will follow those those leads up. William was my wife's great grandfather. In her family narrative he was known as James William but both his death and marriage certificates list him as William.
I have just started on the UK connections and your advice is very welcome.
