Liddell / Liddle Y-DNA surname project
« on: Saturday 16 July 11 05:53 BST (UK) »
A Liddell/Liddle Y-DNA study has recently been started. Our goal is to assist genealogists who have hit a “brick wall” in their Liddell/Liddle research by identifying and confirming genetic relationships to other Liddells.

We currently have 15 members, including several Australians and New Zealanders, most of whom can trace their Liddell/Liddle lineage to 18th century Scotland (incl Roxburghshire, Berwickshire, Peeblesshire and Stirlingshire), and we are looking for others to join us.

As this study involves the testing of the Y-chromosome which is transmitted from father to son, only men with this surname (or a close variant) can take the Y-DNA test.  If you are a female you can still participate in the project by asking a male relative who has this surname to take the DNA test.

If you are interested in joining the project or would like further information, please visit our website:  www.familytreedna.com/public/teamliddelldna
