Memorial Inscription Hutton & Corrie
« on: Tuesday 19 July 11 11:34 BST (UK) »
Please can any one tell me if there is a Memorial Inscription at Hutton & Corrie for a Margaret Halliday died 1850 at Crossdykes Hutton & Corrie.

Also is there a church at Tundergarth? and if so could she be buried there ?

I do not know if there is but if so I would like to visit and see it on my forthcoming trip.

Thank you

Hi
I don't know if this site will be of any help.
All the best with your search.

From the OPR Deaths and Burials for Hutton & Corrie -- booklet published May 2004 by DGFHS.
Halliday Margaret, 80, pauper, [cause of death] decay   [place] Crosdykes   24/02/1850

Not sure, but think DGFHS may have recently published the Hutton & Corrie MIs.
Check their publications lists at www.dgfhs.org.uk

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the deaths but not the MI's but will look at the list of publications. Unfortunately I am going to visit there and I will not be able to get it before I go!

Margaret Halliday is listed in the OPR booklet as a pauper.  It is unlikely that she would have a memorial.  There are a dozen Halliday MIs listed in the DGFHS booklet -- only two
list a Margaret.  I have sent you a personal message.

Thank you for your reply.

I was making sure about the Memorial Stone prior to going and visiting. I have done so much wandering round Churchyards and getting my feet wet that I thought if she has definately not got a stone then I could look at other things.

Thanks for your help.

Did you find Corriehills cemetery? It's disused now and you have to get permission from Farmer Patterson to gain access through his land. After almost giving up I found two relevant headstones there. if you haven't already tried that one it's worth considering.
 Best wishes Corriebell
