Thomas Burton and Margery Grenham - Little Casterton Church
« on: Tuesday 26 July 11 21:22 BST (UK) »
Inside the church at Little Casterton, Rutland there is a bronze effigy of Sir Thomas (died 1381)and Lady Margery (died 1410) Burton.

I made a visit to the church in July but couldn't find it (maybe it had been sent away for repairs/cleaning ???) but there was a visitors book in the church and a few people previously had made comments about the effigy and some were also descendants of Thomas and Margery.

Has anyone seen the effigy recently and are there any other descendants of theirs on RC?

Thank you for that, I had seen a similar one.

One of the entries in the guest book referred to a glass etching similar to this that had been in their family for many generations, if I recall correctly the person was from Canada.

Thanks again for the link.
