Arthur Gandy/George Wilson Brecon Gaol 1891

I'm hoping somebody can tell me what on-line resources might be available to add some more colour  to the life of this relative, in particular find out what civilian crime was perpetrated by a George Wilson who was in Brecon Gaol at the time of the 1891 Census. George Wilson is the pseudonym of William Arthur Gandy who is the most "colourful" person on my G Grandmothers side of the family

9th Aug 1890    Rejoined and Awaiting Trial
25th Aug 1890   Convicted of Desertion
25th Aug 1890   In Prison
30th Aug 1890   Discharged with Ignominy

I am not aware of any online sources for Brecon Gaol, but Powys Archives have records of Quarter Sessions, etc, and they offer a research service.
