An online tree shows this Elizabeth (linked to William Frederick CORY - I see that marriage was in 1922) as born in Stepney on 1 August 1893, daughter of a John SMITH.

Obviously you will want to do your own research rather than relying on that of others, but how do you know that Elizabeth was "born in the Kent area"?

Do you have either of her marriage certificates in order to identify the name and occupation of her father?

Also I can't find a first marriage to an Edward John HAMILTON.  Might this instead have been her first marriage?

I think he needs to purchase a marriage certificate so as to establish the name and occupation of Elizabeth's father.

As I have said I cannot find any marriage to an Edward Hamilton but I did find a possible marriage to a Frederick Hamilton, details of which I posted earlier in the thread.

Frederick Hamilton's military records from 1914 show that he married Elizabeth Smith at Deal on 26 Nov 1911 and that they had a son John Edward Hamilton on 29 May 1912 at Deal.  (Registration of the birth is Jun qtr 1912 Eastry).

Are you sure this is not the right couple? There does not seem to be another suitable baby John Hamilton than the one referred to.
