David Lowry of Newtownards

Hello,

I am looking for information for the following person:

David Lowry b. 1800(approx)  Newtownards, County Down
Occupation in 1849 Cooper.
He may have been a member of St. Marks Church Newtownards

There is a good possibility that his wife was either:
Mary Lowry #5 West Street Newtownards  or
Jane Lowry #8 Conway Square Newtownards

I suspect he had a sister named Agnes, but cannot yet prove it.

I know for a fact that David Lowry had a son named David Lowry b. 1823 in Newtownards. He
married Sarah Arnold/Arnott in Newtownards at St. Marks Church on Aug 12 1849.
His trade indicated that he was a Laborer.

Again I feel I have hit another brickwall. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

died,02 OCT 1815

  Father:  JOHN LOWRY
  Mother:  MARY ORR

Hi Jim,

 I do have the marriage record for David Lowry b. (1823)  & Sarah Arnott b. (1826) approximately for both. Thank you for your input.

From what I can tell there were only two David Lowry's in Newtownards at the time of (1849)  who may be the father of David Lowry b. (1823) (Sarah Arnott).
 
One was a publican who ran Lowry's bar in Newtownards in 1824, the other David Lowry being a cooper (who is listed as father to David Lowry (Sarah Arnott) on the wedding record.

That was very kind of you, and appreciate that list very much. I have examined it, and will add it to my files for future use.  Derek Beattie has compiled quite the list of surnames in the Newtownards area, which include birth, marriages, deaths and gravestones inscriptions. Have you seen it?
  I have a list of gravestone inscriptions from the Newtownards/Greyabbey area that I will transcribe and post
as soon as I finish it.

No I haven't seen that list yet. My own Lowerys were b Haile Cumberland early 1800s (although family legend has them from Ireland). My husband's Lowreys seem to have been irish and known mainly as Lowry...I will have a look at the info I have...the name David crops up with surprising frequency!
