The battlleship HMS Victoria going down.

The unforgetable peacetime naval disaster of 22nd June 1893.  The new battleship HMS Victoria struck by the battleship HMS Camperdowm at 3.30pm 22-6-1893 while carrying out excercises in the Med Sea near the coast of Tripoli, Lebanon.

358 Officers and rating plus the Admiral of the Med Fleet went down with the ship.

Was one of your ancestors on the Victoria or Camperdown on that fateful day ?

My grandfather lost his life.
