Hi
I purchased it through Parish Chest- as I said in my first posting it was a somewhat expensive mistake as I thought I was purchasing Misterton Nottinghamshire.  They do have a number of other parishes though and as you say it is very comprehensive just not for any of my relatives.
regards Sarenid

Hi Sarenid;

I am sorry about your mistake but I spent over 30 hours of my time indexing those Misterton records and it is a bit cheeky to put them out for public viewing.  For what little monies we get for our registers it goes right back to the record office to purchase more fiche to index.  One fiche costs 3.5pounds and Misterton was about 40 fiche big.  That was 140 pounds out of my till.  So please don't punish me or indexers like me who want to keep indexing by making our work free of charge.

Regards,
L

I apologise unreservedly, my only excuse is that I wasn't thinking.  I should have been more general in what was available and used the PM service if more detail was required.

Sorry

Hello Sarenid,

I am really hoping you will be able to help me. I would be really greatful if you could let me have any information on the 'Bamford' family that resided at Misterton Hall. I believe that Arthur j.j. Bamford was married to 'Annie Nash'

Regards
CB

Had a look at the records and could find no reference to "Bamford" at all nor to Annie Nash.  Sorry not to be able to help.

Through a pretty stupid geographical error I have found myself the proud possessor of a PDF with the parish records of Misterton Leicestershire from 1558-1910.  I am happy to do lookups for any with relies in this village so that my expensive mistake can be put to some use.

Hi Sarenid
Could you do me a favour please? "Cave" for Misterton & Walcot. Sorry you got the wrong Misterton so it's really nice you are helping others.
regards and thanks
Neil

Hi Neil

There are 137 entries of the name Cave in the register. The earliest entry in the register is the baptism of Jarvis son of Richard Cave 10 January 1558 and the latest is the burial of Rachel Cave 14 January 1888 age 69.  The register starts 1558 and last entries are 1955.  Within those two dates the name Cave comes up fairly consistently on nearly every page.  I couldn't see any particular pattern.

Sarenid
