HARRISON Hannah b Abt 1836 Nottinghamshire

I'm researching my husband's family tree.  Hannah was his great great grandmother.  We know that she married Benjamin Riggett, who came from Tadington in Derbyshire but we can't find out anything about her background except that in the 1881 census a John Harrison, described as 'Cousin', was living/staying with her daughter Ellen S. Carrington and her husband (George Carrington) and he was 17 at that time.  This suggests that Hannah may have had a brother, John's father.

We think that Hannah died in Derbyshire in the first quarter of 1895.

I would be grateful of any information that would help me to trace Hannah's background.  Thanks!

As I said in my original post, John Harrsion was staying with the Carringtons and is named as a 'Cousin' on the 1881 census, when he was 17.

dec qtr 1850 in Derby.

It is difficult to find correct John Harrison in 1871 as there are so many of similar age b Notts

Maybe a possibility for Hannah is parents George & Hannah
George was a lace agent in 1841 and master of the Workhouse in 1851 EDIT Hannah with these parents was with them and single in 1851 -so ignore this information

You really need marriage cert of hannah Harrison and Benjamin Riggett to find fahter's name and occupation

Harrison is not an uncommon name

In Anx it only lists Hannah 19 on the front cover but looking at true census Benjamin is there along with
baby Sarah. Please have a squizz and let me know what you think.
How do I amend the error with Anx??

I knew it would be difficult.  I just found Hannah yesterday, so haven't had a chance to get a birth certificate yet, but can do so.

Hello ...

I think the only way is to get the marriage certificate as this marriage won't be found in parish registers or IGI etc and it will give some information such as Hannah's fathers name and his occupation so we can help further . As Hannah was born abt 1836 so she might not have a birth registered to enable you to get her birth certificate as that didn't begin until 1837.

Benjamin RIGGETT & Hannah HARRISON - 1850 - Derby Register Office, Derbyshire...... no other details given.
