I am now trying to find out if anyone knows who John Cracknell b 1629 of Brundish,
married.  I know it was Elizabeth, I just want to know if anyone knows her surname.
Would be most appreciative.  Do not know marriage date but know that their son
Robert was born 1661 in Martlesham.

Jane may have been the daughter of William Girling & Jane Woods married by licence October 9th 1789 at Mendham.

I believe that John (a farmer) died in Stradbroke 1847 and Jane in 1877.
1847 must have been a dramatic year for Jane as two of her 10 children also died in 1847!
In 1851 Jane was running a 200 acre farm assisted by 2 outdoor workers and 3 house servants and 5 other children still at home. Of the other 5 children 2 had died by 1851.
In 1871 Jane was living with her sons Thomas, John & Albert & daughter Martha.
In 1851 her eldest son, Henry was farming at Valley Farm, Denham Road, Stradbroke, with his wife Elizabeth (nee Larter ) plus children, one of whom was James FARROW Cracknell born August 1845, 3 months after the couple had married!
n.b "Farrow" may well be a surname linked to the Cracknell or Larter line?

All this info will have to be verified by you the reader!

Hi Dulverton,

Thank you so much for all your information.

I will definately check out the "Farrow" angle, I had not thought of that.

I very much appreciate all your help.  :)

Daniel CRACKNELL & Elizabeth Pretty were married St Peter & St Paul, Eye on the 8th March 1791.
I believe that they MAY had the following six children (all with the usual Cracknell family given names!);  Henry bap 29 December 1805, Mary bap 18 August 1795 - CARE this Mary MAY have died in Eye shortly after she was born in October 1795!, Matilda bap 18 December 1801.
It is suggested on some sites that a John, Ann & Jane are also children of this family.

The following information may cause confusion, - this data requires verification!
Daniel Cracknell MAY have been the son of John Cracknell (from Laxfield), who married an Elizabeth Pretty! (odd or what!) at Eye on the 5th November 1758!

A Mary Cracknell married Henry Hart ; 17 October 1813 St Clement. Ipswich - it is purported by some that this Mary was the daughter of Daniel & Elizabeth!

I expect you are aware but have you visited the Family Search web site as it may help a little (but as always the data will need verification)?
