Thanks for everyone's updates  excellent!
I'm still going to need a day or two to digest before more questions I'm sure but I've actually found what looks like the first trip on the attached to Santa Marta, Colombia! in 1920.
What makes Stanley's life from what everyone has found more remarkable is that more than likely he had neither parent alive by 1906 as on the 1911 census he was a boarder aged just 16.
I'll more than likely need to order the death certificate as his mum (my GG Grand Aunt) Mary Ellis I think died in 1906 to confirm he was on his own aged just 12.

The 1921 Incoming on the Patuce from Santa Marta. Colombia to Bristol gave Stanley as the representative of Shill Bros Ltd., Manchester.

I do have FindMyPast and I've been able to save the images for the following boat trips for Stanley Ellis:

1922 - Santa Marta, Colombia
1924 - New York, USA
1925 - New York, USA bound for Montreal, Canada
1929 - New York, USA bound for Caracas, Venezuela
1933 - La Guaira, Venezuela bound for Barbados, West Indies
1936 - La Guaira, Venezuela bound for Port Limon, Costa Rica
1938 - La Guaira, Venezuela bound for Port Limon, Costa Rica
1945 - Halifax, Canada
As mentioned in my personal post if you can send me any images you have for when he's arrived in the States be it from any of the above trips or other trips passing through the States from other countries and from trips back into England that you've given me the transcriptions from that would be absolutely brilliant  thanks Phil

Departing Port of Spain, Trinidad and Toba to New York. Arriving 29 April 1940 on SS Uruguay. This passenger list names his wife as :- Esperanza Ellis. El Paraiso. Caracas. Venezuela.

There are no passenger lists for Esperanza Ellis - this was the only reference that I discovered which mentioned her which was on page 2.

Hello everybody!
The man in question was my grandfather Stanley Ellis. He married my grandmother Esperanza Garcia de la Concha in Caracas, where he was the British Council at the Bristish Embassy, and had 4 children; Eileen, William (my father. 1928-1981), Elizabeth and John. Since my father died long time ago, I knew very little about my grandfather who died in 1950 (?). I was born in 1965.
I was wondering if I had relatives in manchester?...if I do, then anyone related to Stanley Ellis in Manchester has lots of Ellis relatives in Venezuela. My email is ^(*).

forgot to mention...the four children (2 sons, 2 daughters) entered a british boarding school in Chile and, apparentely, Stanley Ellis left the family and disappeared to an unknown destiny. Last thing my father told me was that he had visited his father (Stanley Ellis) when he was dying at a London hospital around 1950. Stanley Ellis did not recognize his son William, my dad. He is buried somewhere in London. My dad is buried in Caracas.

I'm the original poster of this thread and I live in England but "coscoroba" is Stanley Ellis who's father was William Stanley Ellis and who's Grandfather was Stanley William Ellis.
Stanley (coscoroba) lives in Barcelona
