Potton marriage

Hi Tazzie,   Looked at the Potton PR transcripts this sunny morning.

The marriage on 14 Oct 1730 has no further info other than had name as Fitsjohn and it was by licence; however the licence transcript starts at 1747 so not much good - perhaps the Beds Archives has a copy of the original licence.

The baptisms of Edward & Alice's first 2 children in 1718/1720 are recorded as FAGEIN/FIGEIN/FIDGEON, the later ones as Fits John

The Alice Fits John burial in 1729 says she is wife of Edward Fits John.

Seems widoiw Sarah FitsJohn married Francis Betle on 28 Nov 1742 again by licence, & does not state she is a widow.
Francis Bettel, labourer was buried 8 Jul 1768.
Sarah Bettel/Bettle, widow, poor was buried 11 Dec 1773

  Hello John .....

 Weathers been glorious I agree. Many thanks for your little trip I will contact the archives to see if they have a copy. They did a really good job with some newspaper details I needed a while back.
  The info on Sarah's remarriage is a bonus as for not stating if a widow its happened before.
 Again lots of spelling for the one name can't you just tell they are mine!
