Shotts is in easy reach of me Margaret, if you want me to make enquiries just let me know, with some
info to go on if possible. My own ancestors went there to dig coal in the 1800s.

James.

If you view Jeanie's death record let me know if she lived in Stonehouse and I will check for a headstone

She may have lived elsewhere and died in Stonehouse hospital

Sarah and William were my grandpas aunt and uncle.  She had an older brother Samuel who married Margaret McFerran in 1881, Sarah and William married in Buckna in 1880 and had 12 children, then there was Rose Turtle who married Robert McSeveney in 1886 they had 3 boys in Buckna and a daughter in Whiteinch, then Jane Anderson married William Montgomery in Ballynure and they had 12 children next my great grandpa Patrick married Ellen Gracie they moved to Whiteinch and had 2 daughters and 4 boys. Then Mary Patterson married Robert Reynolds in 1889 in Ballymena and had 2 boys in Whiteinch and lastly Elizabeth Montford who married James Glasgow and they had 8 children.
That ok ???

Hi Carrie,

William Montgomery and Jane Anderson Boyd were my G Grand parents, their daughter Ellen was my grandmother. I know very little about this part of my family as my grandmother, certainly in her later life, seemed to have very little contact with her wider family circle. My Mum always thought that there was a rift in the family. But I'm not so sure - maybe more likely because most of her family had moved to Scotland.

Do you know if Samuel and Margaret had any family?

Great to have made contact with a cousin.
