This information from the Down County Museum is incorrect. The two Mary GILMORE's that arrived on the 'Margaret' have already been noted in the previous thread. The correct information for the Mary Gilmore you have noted is this:

Mary GILLMORE age 26yrs came free on the 'Runneymede' married James HERRING age 25yrs transported on the 'Mangles' sentence 7yrs, TOL - 6 April 1842 by Rev. Sumner at St John's, Roman Catholic, Campbelltown.

I think this is an old thread.. but i am wondering if anyone has solved the mystery of our John Hodges, a convict who married Mary Gilmore also a convict - she died in 1865 and it seems that John has vanished! can not find where he is buried nor any information about his parents at all. There is another John Hodges who died 4 May 1895 in Bathurst.. but its not our John - he as an assisted immigrant from England.

I am thinking he may have remarried fairly quickly..given that all the children were still fairly young.... if anyone as anything to add to this mystery.. i would love to hear from you!! John was my 2 xgreat grand father  ;) Cheers Trish
