 Hi Helen,
Thanks very much for your reply today.
I am in NZ, where my grandfather, James Alphonsus Shear/s, emigrated to about a century ago.
He was the youngest son of Elizabeth Agnes Rodway, bn 1848, grand-daughter of Thomas Wicks Rodway's son John Rodway, bn 1765.
Would love to hear anything you know about the Lathams such as how many siblings Frances had, who her parents and grandparents were, etc.
Thanks again,
Sue

Thanks a lot, Helen, will be looking forward to that!
I don't know much about Thomas Wicks Rodway but I saw something on British History Online saying Thomas Rodway owned a mill in Rodborough area.
("Little Mill" I think.)
His son John Rodway,1765 to 1833, my gtgtgt grandfather, bulit Selly Hall in Selly Oak Birmingham shortly before his death.
He married Susannah Barron in 1800, 22 Sept I think.
Their children were: John Rodway,bn 1802.
James Barron Rodway (my gt gt grandfather) bn 1807
Henry Barron Rodway, bn 1809-1810.
Frances Rodway, who married Thomas Chopping.
Susannah Rodway who married Philip Henry Mills.
Lucy Young Rodway, who married Thomas Benbow, a surgeon who died young.
Have a nice weekend
Sue
