Lanark deaths/burials
« on: Thursday 12 May 05 09:43 BST (UK) »
Hello Dear Friends,

Can anyone please help me?

I am trying to find a death or a burial record for "Agnes Murray Gillespie" between 11 Oct 1851 and 07 April 1855.

She was born on the 11 Oct 1851 in Lanark, Glasgow

Her parents Charles Gillespie and Agnes (Adams) Gillespie immigrated to Launceston, Tasmania aboard the 'Commodore Perry' in 1855 and "Agnes Murray Gillespie" was not with them.

Please! I would love to help my Dad with this part of our family history.

Kind Regards

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

I think this might be a real tough one as the death registers did not start till 1855. I checked that year anyway and could not find any entry for the child. I'm not sure where you start looking to be honest- sorry.
Looking for Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond.

Hi Children

Perhaps you can find a record of the burial on the IGI as all Church of Scotland registers seem to be on there.  Do you know which church the parents married in at Lanark?  Try the local FHS based at Hamilton, or a posting at rootsweb on the mailing list for Lanarkshire or surname list.

Hope this helps.
