Re James LEE at Milparinka, the Sands Country Dir for 1903 gives his occupation as Blacksmith...

Off to look for the other surnames CAIN, LAKE, SMITH  (William H C) in and around BH ....

Cuppa was refreshing

Cheers,  JM

Thanks JM......

The John William LEE in that lot needs to be kept in mind, not too sure about the others, though possibly James.......

No Frank though..... :-\

Following my probable confirmation of the Broken Hill marriages with the FreeBMD births, I've now found deaths in South Australia for Frank William LEE and his wife, and for Bertha Margaret Alice (LEE) SMITH and her husband.

Hi Dee, Have gone through a heap of census's and cannot find your McKenea family at all. But went sideways a bit and checked 1841 came up with a James McKenna b1816 living with a heap of other Irish Immigrants in Liverpool lancashire by the name of Kennelly (also spelt wrong) and a seven yo by the name of Ann McKenna he james is single I think so Ann possible sister. or Daughter by former wife.

Do you think is useful or not, I can try and pursue them into the next few census?

Don't blame you for not being that brave, JM.....thanks for trying.   :D

Thanks Sue for trying too.....only way that one could be the Alice CAIN I'm after would be if the informant got things very very wrong!   ;D

Neil, thanks for trying with James McKENNA or whatever. I think I might leave the McKennas for now if you don't mind and just try to sort out the LEE family.   :)
(For your interest, I came up with my RC username before I even knew there was a place called Iluka!   ;D   ;D
I just knew that iluka meant "by the sea". So....deeiluka.. )

Sue,
I’m really wondering if the death you found is actually the right death with the wrong information as to Alice’s parents. I found the following births…..
Lindsay A W CAIN born 1909 to Adam L & Alice E
Cecil H CAIN born 1911 to Adam L & Alice E
Both births at WENTWORTH
