Historic Carmarthenshire Homes
« on: Friday 13 May 05 21:49 BST (UK) »
Hi

Has anyone  got a copy of Francis Jones 'Historic Carmarthenshire Homes and their Families' published by Brawdy Books in 1997?

I am researching the Rees family who lived at Cilymaenllwyd in Carmarthenshire and I wonder if the history of this house is covered in the book.    If there is an entry would it be possible  to send me the details?

Gerry

Hello

I'm sorry I don't have a copy, but the book is listed for look-ups on the Books We Own site:

Hello Morgan

It was kind of you to reply to my posting of 2005 and time has now moved on.

Last year a CD Rom was published 'Cilymaenllwyd - From Gentry Home to Nursing Home'  which has given all the information I need - plus lots more.

Good luck with your searches.

Regards

Gerry

Cilymaenllwyd Mansion is now a nursing home but at various times was owned by the Mansell family and the Howard/Stepney. It's on the Llanelli to Carmarthen road.  There was another Cilymaenllwyd which was near Llandeilo.

I'm not sure which property Gerry is interested in....  :-\ but I suspect it's the one at Llanelli

Thanks - I thought there was one near Llanelli.

(Just like when I googled some info for Whitland - thought it looked different - then realised it was in the USA!!)
