Annie Elizabeth Gough was born in Shifnal in 1902 and married Ernie Bates in 1946 in Wellington.

I can't find Annie on the 1911 census. Any clues? Her father was a miner.

I wonder if you are entering too much information into the search. Also, can I ask what makes you think her father was a miner - was it on her birth certificate ?

We aren't allowed to give 1911 information, but I would advise fewer details might help.

it also depends where you are searching.
http://www.1911census.co.uk/ is a free index and you can then download the information for a fee.
Some subscription sites may have all counties but, for example, Ancestry hasn't transcribed all counties and Shropshire is one which is not available.

Do you mean that she was born in Shifnal itself, or in Shifnal Registration District?

The free index to the 1911 is showing an Annie Elizabeth Gough aged 8, birthplace Tong, Shropshire, living in Shifnal R.D.

Tong is in Shifnal Registration District, and is only about 3 miles from the town of Shifnal.

Using Shifnel as birth place she also shows on free index to 1911 census http://www.1911census.co.uk/ - quite straightforward in this case
