i am looking to confirm the marraige of thomas jones stevens to ann owen c july 1832, at St Marys church Dolgellau, also are his parents mentioned in the transcripts

Can't help with the marriage but fathers names were not shown on marriage entries prior to 1.7.1837 - mother names are never shown on English or Welsh marriage certs

I have had a look at the records that I have for Dolgellau marriages, unfortunately the record is very faint and almost illegible. However as has been noted above pre 1837 marriage records rarely contain family details. However I can give you the date of the marriage, it was 19th July  1832, and it was by Licence.

The marriage Licence index at the National Library of Wales has some interesting information it says:
STEVENS, Thomas Jones, bach., St. Peters College, CAM. 1832, Jul 19. At Dolgellau, MER.  Anne Owen. A. 61/117.

I understand that the old universities have lists of Alumni that include some important biographical details. I don't know how these are accessed, but it might be a worthwhile line of enquiry, perhaps even on another board.

I should have noted that St. Peters College, CAM is Peterhouse Cambridge, the oldest of Cambridge University's collages.

Therein lies a difficulty, I have been prohibited by this site from transcribing my faint records or offering look ups from them. I have access to the pay for site that you may be alluding to, but I doubt that I would be able to post information gained from that site to this one, which is why I was loath to suggest a look up from that site.

Rootschats legal eagles seem to be so pernickety that I am almost paranoid about what I may or may not post here  –  as you say the information is available, but as I say it may be more  prudent to ask for access to it through a less litigious board!
