india, madras city police

hi,
i,m trying to find information on a George Burman who married  Adalene Mary perkins nee sinclair in 1908 in madras i,m assuming that is the one in india as not certain yet
george is stated as being a serjeant in the madras city police and adalene as a nurse on their marriage cert
does anyone have any ideas as to how i can further my search as not sure how or where to search in foreign countries

he had brothers edward, william,and frederick and sisters ellen and mary

does he sound like the george you have??

George Burman b c1875 was in the Suffolk regiment,,he served till 1906,,,and was discharged in Madras,,just wondered if this was your man?

it does seem like this is the one i am searching for as i have a marriage cert from 1908 which has him as a serjeant  (funny spelling) in the madras city police

interesting that he was discharged in madras i thought he would have been discharged in this country!!

my uncle is trying to find if he came back to this country by checking passenger lists or whether he remained in india!
not sure if there are these sort of records kept in india

his army record gives his next of kin as his father  James.

i have got to first make sure which george burman  as there are two on freebmd one born in 1874 and another in 1876 in the ipswich area
