Ok

on the 1900 Census there is a Garrett Stack in Pennsylvania states born 1870 Ireland

I have found the following Garrett Stack

name: Garret Stack
10 August 1870
Ballylongford, Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

These are other children born to James Stack and Honora Carroll (most of them are names on your original list)

Mary Stack
22 December 1871
Ballylongford, Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

Catherine Stack
21 July 1875
Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

Margaret Stack
1 October 1878
Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

Elizabeth Stack
17 February 1874
Ballylongford, Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

John Stack
29 March 1880
Trippol, Kerry, Ireland
Father James Stack
Mother Honora Carroll

Do you think this could be the right family and Ballylongford is the townland that you are looking for ??

Tara

They were actually from Trippol which shows as Trippul on Googlemaps. I have been there before as it is beautiful, very near Ballybunion Beach and near Beal which is where I stayed in an old converted schoolhouse.

These children are all on irishgenealogy too

Sponsor on this one is Catherine Stack (could this be James' sister Kate)

Sponsor on this one is Margaret Stack (could this be James's sister Margaret Stack Riley?)

Fingers crossed Fiona

Tara, some of the names/ dates match and others don't. Where did you get the first list from? Fiona

The first list is from familysearch (the free site), the second from irishgenealogy (also a free site)

When you say they don't match - what do you mean ?

Fiona,

Family Search has baptisms from this same couple: Stack/Carroll and Stack/Carrol

which are I think the ones Tara has found.
Garrett though has a different year of birth which is out by a few years.

The other links posted (must be on other thread) also seems as though there is a Clare connection  :-\

Hi Heywood

I'm confused

When you say Garrett has a different year of birth which is out by a few years - what do you mean ?

As far as I was aware I had only posted one with 10th August 1870.

Also where did you see a Clare connection ?

Tara

When I say the lists don't match, I just mean that some of the info differs e.g can't find this Garrett, Margaret, or Catherine on Irishgenealogy, but it has a James (Jun.) who doesn't feature on Familysearch. The dates for Elizabeth differ - Irishgen says 25 Sep 1873 & FS says 17 Feb 1874. However, I assume it's the same family despite this. Thanks a million for all this. Fiona

Sorry I mean the Garrett in USA censuses

There is a link to the USA thread, in my earlier post and there are then links to other posts elsewhere re the same family. That is where I saw a Clare connection.
It is confusing with the two threads running re USA and Kerry.

Census states that Garrett emigrated 1895 and there is an 1895 Garrit, 21 yrs emigrating to Stamford.

When I first saw that list on FS earlier, I thought it was the family and I can see now in my earlier post I was going to post them but then wondered about Garrett.
