St. Gobnaits & Dineens of Knocknabro

I am seeking death information or gravestones inscriptions for Dineens of Knocknabro buried in St. Gobnaits, Ballyvourney.  In particular I am interested in two brothers, Jeremiah (b. 1900) and John, a.k.a. Jack, (b. 1911).  A former Knocknabro resident who knew them has told me they died sometime in the 1970s after 1972.  I am even more interested in death information about their parents who might be buried with them.  They were Timothy J. Dineen (b. 1868) and Mary (Cremin) Dineen (b. 1870).  Any information will be deeply appreciated.

Hi,

I had a look at the O'Kief Coshe Mang. volumes at the library
as transcriptions from St. Gobnaits are in one of the volumes- up to
1960 approx.

There were several Dineens, the following might be of interest, although the townland mentioned is not Knocknabro.  A previous
generation to your Timothy maybe.

" Erected by Timothy Dineen in memory of his beloved father
Timothy of Knucksahering who died 21st Aug 1893 aged 72years,RIP"

I couldn't find the townland Knucksahering on a google search.

The newer section is fairly large.  Transcriptions not available.

This might even confuse things more.

I responded to the query on the Kerry board.  It now turns out that Knocknabro is in Co. Kerry.   Another rootschatter suggested that these Dineens were
actually buried in St Gobnaits, Ballyvourney Co Cork.

Thank you all for your suggestions.  I checked the Casey collection already but didn't find the family I was seeking, perhaps because the deaths followed the publication of O'Kief or perhaps because no stone was ever erected.  However, if the person who is collecting the Lucey family information lives close to Ballyvourney, he might know of a Dineen plot.  At this point, I'm guessing that Timothy probably died by 1955 because Jeremiah bought the land from Thomas O'Donghue in that year. 

I have the Dineen generations traced back to Timothy's grandfather, all of Knocknabro, so I don't think that other townlands will connect.

Hello to all who are following this thread.  Although I have not been able to locate gravestones, I have located death records which show that Timothy J. Dineen died in Knocknabro on 7 JUL 1963 at the age of 94.  His wife, nee Mary Cremin, predeceased him on 3 APR 1940, also in Knocknabro.  Thank you so much for your interest.
