Hi Heywood
She has got the marriage entry of 1853 in Leeds of Richard Raleigh and Mary Hart.
Marys parents were James and Mary Hart, Richards father was Jeremiah Raleigh.
Richard and Mary had a son also named Jeremiah and a daughter Mary Ellen.
But as I know my friend has only found this birth entries on the bdm index.
This children we can find in the Census of 1861 with grandparents James
and Mary Hart which were born in Ireland (Richard was not mentioned there)
and in the Census of 1871 as stepchildren of Edward Schofield in Leeds.
I also searched through some city directories of Leeds of the 1850s and 1860s
but I couldn't find the name Raleigh or Rayley, only the name Riley but no
Richard or Jeremiah and I also couldn't find a James Hart.
That's all we know about their life in Leeds. Richard seems to disapear from Leeds.
Regards
Svenja
