Shiels/Donnelly/Crowley
« on: Tuesday 03 July 12 19:58 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I need some help in progressing with my family tree...

My G.Grandmother Margaret Cowley (nee Connor) Married (for the second time) my G.grandfather Patrick Sheils

Margaret dob c1883 / death 28/04/1960
Patrick dob c 1874 / death 29/07/1957
Married the 8th Feb 1910

Patrick Shiels worked in Jameson Distillery
I have found them in the 1911 Census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Arran_Quay/King_Street__North/56371/

I have obtained their wedding cert where they married in St Pauls Arran Quay - Her fathers name is Christopher Connor of 151 North King St who's occupation was Labourer.

Patrick's father was also Patrick Sheils of 109 upper Church St who was also a labourer.

Both Margaret & Patrick were widows when they married on 08/02/1910.

Now I am trying to get past this stage... any help appreciated.

A possible match for Margaret Connor's first marriage
Marriages   Dublin North       Oct/Dec 1902   Vol. 2  Page 527.There is a James  Cowley with the same reference.

A possible match for Patrick Sheils first marriage.
Marriages Dublin North Oct/Dec 1905 Vol. 2 Page 490.Do you know what his first wifes christian name was? There is the following death record which looks like a possible match.Deaths  Dublin North Jul/Sept 1907 Margaret Sheils Vol. 2 Page 361.I will look for births later.

Hi
On the civil indexes there are 3 possible matches for Margaret's birth in Dublin North in the 1880s.If the year you have (1883) is correct there is the following
Births - Margaret Connor-Dublin North Jan/Mar 1883 Vol. 2 Page 568.

For Patrick there is one possible match in 1871.
Births -Patrick Sheils -Dublin North 1871 Vol. 17 Page 625.

Have got a little further in my research with my family tree.

Patrick Sheils b1874 married Margaret Cowley/Crowley

His father James Sheils b1847 married Bridget Donnelly b1845 they had 4 children from what I can find so far Denis, Margaret, Anastasia and Patrick (my g.grandfather).

His father was Denis Sheils and her father John Donnelly according to this  http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/2439450428992

I have not been able to get past this point as yet, any information appreciated.

Thanks,
Jess   :-\

Hi,

I am looking for help on James Sheils & Bridget Donnelly.  I have found their marriage on Irish Churches for 5th Nov 1865 and James father is listed as Denis Sheils and Bridget's father is John Donnelly.  James address is 9 Poolbeg St and Bridget 85 L Baggot St.  As far as I can see James and Bridget had 4 children - Margaret, Anastasia, Denis and Patrick Sheils (my grandfather) born in 5 Storeys Cottages, Mayor St 09/01/1874.

I haven't been able to find any more information on Denis Sheils & John Donnelly?

Any help appreciated

Thanks
