navyman mystery, anyone help?
« on: Monday 16 July 12 20:03 BST (UK) »
hi, i've recently discovered my grandads dad is someone else. my grandads mom seperated from her husband and had my grandad with a man from the navy. she was with him for a few years and lived with him for a while too, but they separated when my grandad was young. the only thing my grandad knows about him is his name "might" be wilson. whether thats surname or first name i'm not sure.

i was just wondering if anyone knows of a way i could find out about him?? my grandad was born in 1946, "wilson" lived with them, and was in the navy. they lived in coventry, warwickshire. some sort of record containing who was on leave etc.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Does your Grandad have a birth cert.
you could search the Cov. electoral register.

yeah he does but i think she put her ex husband down as his dad, well he has his surname. i think it was because she was still legally married to him, so i don't think that would help. i'll try the electoral register, thanks for the suggestion its appreciated.

I'm afraid you'd have to go the Coventry library & look up your nan & see who she was living with at the time.

Hi 'mrsericnorthman'

I am a descendent of Henry Bartlett Sulley, I googled his name and one of your roots chat threads came up. I am really sorry that you are struggling to find your Grandad's details. Its likely that we are not connected by blood but I do have some very sparse information about when your Grandmother separated from my Grandfather (Sidney Sulley).

Best wishes
Jackie
