1866 India birth lookup please

Hi

Can somebody please help?  I am trying to look up Benjamin John Morris b. 1866.  I'm not sure where he was born but I know that he married Mary Isabella Townsend on 9 March 1892 in Bombay (now Mumbai), India and that there children where in India aswell.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Please can you clarify what information you are trying to find?

Groom's Father's Name:George Morris

You may need to establish why Benjamin and/or his father George Morris were in India before you can find Benjamin's place/country of birth.

Could either Benjamin or George Morris have been in the Army or the Indian Civil Service?

Do you have a copy of the marriage entry to see if it contains anymore clues?

The family search website is where i got the information for the marriage but i'm not sure why benjamin was out in india.  I wanted to know where he was born and any more information about his parents as I don't know who his mother is or much about his father.

Elsa - You've given his name as Benjamin John, where the transcribed marriage record is Benjamin (though his wife had two names) - have you seen the original? The British Library can supply a copy or you could order a film via an LDS Family History Centre.

What's the source for the middle name & for the place of birth as India? Have you found him on any UK census at all?

Rather mysteriously it refers to Benjamin John Morris (nee Jacobs)

There was a Benjamin John Morris, born Lee, London 1866, who served in India as a private with King's Own Royal Lancaster regiment from 1886 to 1892, Discharged February 1892.  Next of Kin was his uncle J Morris, 8 Osborn Terrace, Lee.

Occupant of 8 Osborne Terrace in 1891 was a George Morris, gardener from Grandon(?) Bucks.

Benj J Morris born in Lee circa 1866 appears in Osborne Terrace on the 1881 census as a nephew of George Morris, as does an Isaac Jacobs aged 18 (?) also of Lee.
