Sarah Hannah Heathcote

I am searching for the parents of Sarah Hannah Heathcote.  I think she was born in 1835.  She married William Brown on 9 Sept 1855 at Manchester.  They immigrated to Australia in 1857 on board the ship Emma.  At this time they had one daughter Sarah Ann born 1856.  I have found conflicting information about her parents from other researchers, and the census records have left me totally confused.  Her death notice states her father was Thomas but I don't have the original certificate.  Please help!!  Jan

One researcher I have found also states Sarah's father as George - surgeon.  I know William's father was Joel, a stonemason.  The problem I have is on her birth notice she states Thomas as her father.  I will have to get the original death notice.

there is a Sarah Hannah Heathcote born 1848  with father Thomas but she married James France in 1871 in Heywood so it can't be her.

There is a Sarah Heathcote christened 25th January 1835 in Macclesfield with father's name Thomas and mother Eliza.

I too have found a birth notice for Sarah with parents Thomas and Eliza, born at Macclesfield. My problem is which one is correct.

I don't think it would be George & Elizabeth that baptised Sarah Hannah Heathcote on 6 Sep 1837. They have seven children all baptised at the same church in Manchester, father's occupation "fustian cutter" over a 10 year spread. His son, Thomas Henry Heathcote marries in 1854 and list his father's name as George Heathcote, "Fustian Cutter". Since your Sarah Hannah Heathcote lists her dad as a surgeon when she marries, I think it may be a different George Heathcote you are looking for. However, you never know so keep us all informed as to what you find out.
