In 1881 shes a servant living in Little Bowden, Northamptonshire.

My plan was, to search deaths for an Elsie May who was born on 10 May 1894 and see if different surnames come up. Then, check the marriages for a Stevenson to that surname.

But nothing.... :(

Are the grandparents still around in 1911?  If they had passed away perhaps she was adopted by another family and changed her name  :-\

Maybe try just looking for an "Elsie May" that fits the bill.

Is Altofts a small place?

Altofts is quite small, but also down as Normanton or Wakefield.

This is very frustrating.

I have recently moved to Altofts and live on Brook Street. Mine would have been 1 or the 2 only houses on brook Street at that time. I know abit of the history of the house and who used to own it.
