Robert Flower, Leicester

Hi, new on here..here goes. I'm looking for a Robert Flower married to Keziah about 1770 St Mary's Leicester. They had 4 children, Robert, John, Thomas and Keziah. Thomas was my 4th great grandfather and so far been easy to trace. Now getting stuck on Robert's father Robert senior. Any help would be brilliant as getting close to finding relationship of my Flower line to John Flower (The Leicester Artist) b1793 at St Mary's.

There were actually 6 baptisms to Robert and Keziah (or Kezia) listed at St Mary's
 1772   27-Dec      ROBERT
1775   25-Aug      LINTHWAIT
1776   29-Dec      JOHN HORTON
1778   16-Feb      THOMAS
1779   12-Aug      THOMAS
1780   25-Nov      KEZIAH


Going further back, there was a Robert Flower bapt in St Martin on 21 June 1747 to parents Linthwaite and Jane -- and note the name of Robert and Kezia's second child -- that looks like a promising lead, wouldn't you say?

And prior to that, one Linthwaite Flower was bapt 7 May 1724, St Mary's, father Robert (no mother named).

mentions Robert Flower Miller of the Castle Mills May 14 1718

not so much about him as social history but he is used in the example of the Corporation assuming it's rights

Thanks Trish for your reply, but the Robert Flower from Long Clawson is'nt my one. Linthwaite was a Son/Father not a Surname. I'm now looking at Linthwaite & Jane's marriage and more importantly, why was Jane bequeathed the Castle Mill and who were their children...at Records Office at 9.15 prompt tomorrow.
