Heavey - Byrne
« on: Monday 10 December 12 23:45 GMT (UK) »
I have a Patrick Heavey who married Catherine Byrne on 7/7/1850 in St. Aidan's Cathedral.  Their Children included Catherine bapt 20/12/1851, Mary bapt 30/5/1853, Patrick bapt 25/9/1855, John bapt 19/10/1857, Thomas bapt 28/2/1860, Edward bapt 6/3/1862, and James bapt 5/9/1864.  Some possible siblings of Patrick the senior and Catherine include John Heavey, Mary Byrne, Ed Byrne, Elizabeth Heavey, Pat Byrne, and Thomas Heavey.

Patrick and Catherine lived in Mill Park, Enniscorthy and his trade was a miller.  I am looking for any information on Catherine's family or Patrick's family.

I do know that the youngest child, James, emigrated to the USA around 1885.  I have no other information on what happened to James' siblings.

Thanks!!

I have some additional information.  Through some contact with the local RC Church, I was able to determine that the Heavey's arrived in Enniscorthy around 1795.  The first mention of this family is Patrick Heavey married to Catherine Murphy and they had nine children, all baptized at St. Aidan's Cathedral.  They are Margaret (18/3/1811), Catherine (11/10/1813), Robert (9/9/1814), Bridget (10/1/1816), Thomas (20/12/1818), Ellen (4/6/1821) Patrick (11/9/1823), Anne (13/5/1826), and John (16/10/1831).  John, Thomas, and Catherine show up as godparents to Patrick Jr.'s children in the 1850's, so I am sure this is the same line.  Looking for any additional information.
