Hi Mike,

As you know your Father's cousins maiden name, could you try a marriage search on 'Free BMD' or 'Ancestry' to see if there are any likely marriages (assuming her name is not Jones or Smith!)

Woohoo!

I'm now in touch with living relatives that I had only vaguely heard of when I was young. With the help of WRJones, we constructed some alternatives sequences of marriages and births, and came up with some possible candidates. I trcaed them via 192.com, then wrote to some, contacted others via facebook and finally, after four false leads, here I am talking to second cousins about our joint ancestors.

It's all rather exciting. Thank you WRJ.

The breakthrough came when I realised that I had some duff family information - Soughton near Wrexham turned out to be Saighton near Chester.
